Rolling dice
With the universe
Thinking twice
Is such choice perverse?
Nothing here
Left to stop, reverse
Rolling dice
With the universe
Shall I try
Such experiments
Go for truth
Not for vague pretence
Can’t control
The result’s events
Shall I try
Such experiments?
Only coin
Is the loss to make
So it’s clear
For this risk I take
Calculate
Hope I don’t mistake
Only coin
Is the loss I make
Let me dream
And beseech the sky
Take me up
On such wings to fly
Don’t desert
Leave me high and dry
Let me dream
I beseech the sky
Rolling dice
With the universe
Once or twice
Cannot be rehearsed
Once begun
Cannot be reversed
Rolling dice
With the universe

Lol…you know what my answer will be….prayer is better. :).
Someone included me in their tarot cards recently and I still feel sick over it. Dice would feel just as ‘dicey’.
Awesome as always, Sis. xxxx
Don’t fret too much re tarot dear Skye – I read tarot cards and they are basically just a meditative tool, the capacity to foretell the future I think at best is showing what is happening now and extrapolating…I do find that works sometimes, but there’s an internal logic in the card definitions that support that. It still leaves room for choice and change, so nothing’s that fixed, and prayer I think would be a perfect antidote to any foretelling that disturbed you anyway!! 🙂 🙂 xxxx
🙂 Thanks, Helen. That does make me feel a bit better. The person just used them as part of a big joke on me anyway…but still, the whole thing left me with a horrible feeling. So, thanks! 😀
Tarot itself can’t hurt you, I promise you! Just put it out of your mind! 🙂 🙂
🙂
Remind’s me of a song by Pearl Jam- “Roll God’s Dice” Nice poem. That’s what it feels like a lot of times going for your dreams.. Gambling with fate..
Absolutely, in the lap of the gods as they say, thank you so much!! 🙂 🙂
This poem is delicious! 🙂
Thank you, it was fun to write!! 🙂 🙂
Very well written. I too feel like I’m rolling the dice and nothing is happening! ~Gina
LOL, such a common feeling – part of the human condition almost! thanks so much!! 🙂
Not sure I like those odds. I remember role playing in junior high, and it wasn’t always easy to tell (when rolling a die onto a notebook in a moving school bus) which side actually came out on top. 🙂
LOL, sounds a lot like life then!! 🙂 🙂
