Voice

Could it be
from silence comes
a voice
Could the reach
beyond be a real
choice?
Are there words
a quiet soul may
speak?
Are they worth
the audience
I seek?

All these years
I hid within
these walls
Turned away,
heard not ambition’s
calls
Felt I had
so little new
to say
And my words,
too clumsy
anyway

It’s true there is
no courage without
fear
Security is
just hiding what’s
held dear
And so with all
my bravery, venture
forth
And pray my voice
delivers words
of worth
