Model Army

Beautiful Mannequin Woman

Beautiful Mannequin Woman (Photo credit: epSos.de)

Such skeletal form
In garb of darkest hue
Direct, emotionless gaze
Piercing fashion through
Life’s darker mysteries
In glances so construed
Marching mannequins master
Talents known to few

Down the boulevard
Paparazzi prey
Celebrity in hiding
Venture out this day
Perfect form and face
None will give away
What they gave to get this far
What they must betray

Smokey eyes so gazing
Through your soul, and gone
Nothing real about the
Dreams they wish upon
Step by step they’re coming
As the day’s begun
All the false, dark glitter
Blotting out the sun

There have been a couple of scary episodes of Dr. Who over the years that featured mannequins….creepy!

very insightful 🙂 the trappings of success, and the wanderlust of it are gurgling within me from reading this. Well done 🙂

  5. That paints an oddly creepy picture.

  6. not exactly the “March of the Wooden Soldiers” – I find celebrity worship deplorable

The episode of The Twilight Zone with mannequins freaked me out!! They are scary. Great poem.
