Kissing’s Sake

French Kiss

French Kiss (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

I knew you
In the moment of the kiss
I knew that nothing
Would be more or less than this
This was it all
Just the touch of lip and tongue
No serenade to art
Or of romance there begun

I knew you
In the sweet, dark smile you gave
Knew already
There was nothing there to save
No finer feeling
No promises to make
It’s just a kiss
And only here for kissing’s sake
