Rather than the king
That’s the thing!
Powerbroker plays
Are the ones that pay
In so many ways
Giving your advice
Never asking twice
Trap them in their vice
Spider web refined
Competitors confined
Proteges that shine
All these ones that owe
From your gifts bestowed
See the tributes flow
Hidden from the eye
None make seek or pry
No matter how they try
Shielded from the blame
For this ruthless game
Those lost to the flame
To be the kingmaker
Rather than the king
