Sweet Derangement

Sweet derangement of the senses
Brittle voices, mission bell
Truth distorted, past defences
Secrets too bizarre to tell

Acid dreams and cocktail fancy
Spread-eagled specimen here lies
From some pit of necromancy
Comes the darkened lord of flies

In the morning all’s forgotten
Just a dreamland far away
And such children here begotten
Are but markers on the way

Sweet derangement of the senses
Wishing on a fallen star
Cut through all your vague pretences
Show completely who you are
