There once was a would be king
With raised eyebrow and dark onyx ring
With his people held sway
But his words gave away
Aristocracy’s just not his thing

For those that would be born to rule
Should not take the part of the fool
For no matter how clever
The truth is they never
Can rise from this ruse to be cool

  1. I like the joined limerick style. It’s very catchy.

  2. There once was a poet named Helen
Who found a big hole and fell in
Get me out, get me out
    She cried with a shout
I don’t want to stay here and dwell in
    🙂

  3. I love limericks – and this was great!

A dark onyx ring? Apparently a more balanced diet should sort that out.

  5. ok…I recovered enough from Brian to say…..I love this!! And, I agree, one stanza of a Haiku never seems enough either. I was very glad to hear you thought the same. 😀

Brilliant! Mail a copy to that president of Syria as you’ve written his face all over it 😀
