I Wish

Prayer

Prayer (Photo credit: Boofalo Blues)

To all those that struggle
I wish relief
I wish you to overcome
To all those who mourn
I wish acceptance
I wish you calm
To all those that aspire
I wish you inspiration
I wish you a voice
To all those that believe
I wish you evidence
I wish you choice

To all those that are generous
I wish you recompense
I wish you gain
To all those that are loving
I wish you comfort
Freedom from pain
To all those that live sacrifice
I wish you honour
I wish you fame
And to those that mustΒ hold to hope
I wish youΒ peace
that needs no name

  1. No Longer I says:

    Liberation, a sigh after struggle
    Endurance, if through soggy tears
Seeking, and finding enough in contentedness
    Not having, not knowing, yielding
    Choosing to follow
    To give without fear
    Loving despite knowing pain

To follow in the footsteps of
The One who lived such a life by choice
    Who gave Himself for me
Out of intense obsessive love for me

  2. How beautiful Helen!

That’s a good wish list. Not very likely to ever come true, unfortunately, but certainly a noble sentiment.

Helen: I read the first 2 lines of this and it inspired my latest story (Peace). You’ve outdone yourself on this one. It’s a wonderful Wish List you have here.

  7. Beautiful, and I second all those wishes:-)

  8. Absolutely beautiful, Dear Sis. You move me to tears with your heart. Big hugs!!

  9. Great, moving piece! I like the form you used.

  10. And I wish the same for you.

  11. You get three wishes, right? So it shouldn’t be a problem, especially for a wish such as this. Now where’s that genie…
