Cries out
Enfolds its rage
Deep within

Draws out
Strong, ancient grief
Surfacing now

Balances this
Eye for eye
Peace found

About helenvalentina

Like most people, I have a number of sides to me. The most interesting one probably emerges through my writing, hence this blog. I love to read, and also to write, and so this is a way to share both.

  1. I have always wondered about eye for eye justice and believe intelligent beings should devise a better way. Thanks for helping me to pause and think.

Reading this piece made me think of all of the anger I’ve harbored over the years, and how I would always seek revenge. Unfortunately, “eye for an eye” did not always leave me satisfied because sometimes the consequences had a negative impact on me. I like that I was able to connect emotionally with this.
