One Word

One word
Spoken in the hush
As evening falls

One kiss
Light on a cheek
In shadows

One promise
Broken before
It is made

One heart
Split at the core
Bereft

One word
Too quiet to hear
All is lost

About helenvalentina

Like most people, I have a number of sides to me. The most interesting one probably emerges through my writing, hence this blog. I love to read, and also to write, and so this is a way to share both.

And that word is ‘Bugger’. (Well, actually it’s probably not, but the alternative wouldn’t have been suitable for publication.)

  2. That is just perfect: poignant , to the point, and breathless!

  3. Another musing to ponder Sis… very nice indeed xxxx

  4. Sigh, a lost love. Expressed tenderly.

I really didn’t want to read this tonight, but I think I was meant to read it! I just wrote one about how his one word makes me ponder going back. Yours reminds me that I shouldn’t. Thank you for writing this…even though I didn’t want to read it! lol

  6. **sigh & ouch** I need a Helen hug…..and chocolate. Beautifully sad, Sis.

  7. Harsha says:

  8. Mike says:

This lyrical parquet of well-chosen, economical words forms an image that outshines the gravity of heartbreak. So good.
