A tiger sleeps
In a forest in my mind
Above his gentle head
Birds fly to nests to rest
All is dark
The trees a canopy
To catch the falling stars
The tiger’s dreams
Are deep and foreign
And seep within
The forest floor
To promise the approaching day

A ghost haunts
The hallways of my inner heart
His sad procession
Are promises broken
And betrayal
His footsteps a rhythm
To weave his soulful melody
His voice haunting
Angelic
Yet belies
The beast he is and how
This chains him to this moment
And this place

I was wondering whether the ghost might be in any danger of being eaten by the tiger, but then I remembered that, according to the adverts on telly at any rate, tigers mainly eat Kellogg’s Frosties.

  2. This had me reeling inside…was so thankful for Brian’s comment to kind of bring me back again!! Great work, Sis!! xxxxx
