Split apart
like a peach
at the banquet table
We are
Cut adrift
like a lost lifeboat
floating on silent seas
We are
Broken down
like a grandfather clock,
portentous but still
We are
Forever lost
like keys to forgotten locks,
keeping secrets
We are
*********
Reunited
like twins from broken homes
finally found
We will be
Secured
like a babe in arms
rocked to sleep
We will be
Repaired
like cuffs of finely tailored
business suits
We will be
Yet redeemed
as fallen angels find
still beating wings
We will be
