Faceless One

I dreamt
Of the Faceless one
Hidden eyes blazing
Like collapsing sun
Silent voice screaming
Coming undone

I heard the sound
Of the Voiceless one
Lyrical catcalls
Dirges unsung
Lost words accusing
Everyone

I felt the touch
Of the Formless one
Embrace of a spider
With web unspun
Creates without knowing
What he has done

I remember an episode from an old British sci-fi thing back in the eighties called Sapphire and Steel where there was a bloke in a bowler hat wandering round. He didn’t have face. It was all a bit weird and creepy. I seem to recall he hid himself in old photographs as well. Not sure why. The programme never did make a lot of sense.

    • Interesting. I was also watching an episode of Hannibal last night, so ages after I wrote this poem (since I schedule posts a few weeks ahead) and it had someone suffering from a rare mental health condition where they think they are dead and they can’t see people’s faces….felt a bit spooky to see it the day my poem posted, lol! šŸ™‚

  2. That’s amazing. They sound like a trio of creatures you’d read about in a horror story.

  3. I’ve had the same dream Sis……… xxx huggs

  4. Wow! Very good, love it!

  5. Haunting piece, Helen.

I should have read this during the day! lol The faceless one is the one that kind of freaks me out. There was a robot (fembot) on the Bionic Woman (way back when) that used to have it’s human face taken off in fight scenes. It always scared me. This poem gives great imagery šŸ™‚

  7. This is absolutely outstanding Helen I can’t even pick a favorite stanza because they are all brilliant. Love!!!
