Nephilim

We are of the fallen
Giant wings folded
Glancing behind us
To horizons lost

We are of the fallen
Icarus’ brothers
Sun worship songs
Of ancient times

We are of the fallen
Strove for a moment
To be only ourselves
A thing apart

We are of the fallen
Fell for this folly
Took the choice given
Paying the cost

We are of the fallen
Broken and splintered
Yearning for unity
Communion of the lost

Nice poem, goes well with the picture.

  2. It’s what happens when a god buys a drink for an earthling

  3. Excellent poem. I don’t know anything about the Nephilim. They sound like fallen angles going by this.

  4. It reminds me of a good poem for Memorial Day here this weekend. I liked it a lot, Helen.
