Water

Gecenin Koynunda / In the Night's Soul

Gecenin Koynunda / In the Night’s Soul (Photo credit: Kuzeytac (will be back soon))

The water runs cold
Like your blood
Reptilian eyes
Raise their wary hoods

The surf that breaks
Upon a distant shore
Recalls your form
In some strange place before

Remembering well
The day you turned to me
Ensnared my gaze
And saw me piteously

The water runs dry
Like this withered heart
I will survive
Much better now apart
