Hairdresser Salon

T2i - Butterfly

Hairdryer hum,
music just below
conscious thought

Slightly chilled
colours strange that seep
against scalp

Watch the time
soon to rise and rinse
Emerge new

Butterfly
of chemical hues
is now born

I should read titles more. At the end I didn’t get it. (No surprise though with poetry) and then re-read it twice… then noticed the title and went… oh duh. Silly me. Quite a lovely poem! It made me strain my tiny brain, lol. 🙂

    • LOL, thank you…it literally was written on a notepad as i waited for colour to take in my hair at the hairdresser salon, so perhaps it all seemed obvious to me at the time, but on reflection you need to take in the title for it to make sense at all…LOL. 🙂

    Fun!!!!!!!! Love it!!!!!

    • Thank you so much…it was a good way to spend the time waiting for the colour to take when I was at the salon..I find now writing poetry makes that time pass much more quickly! 🙂

This was great “butterfly of chemical hues is now born”…isn’t that the truth. I’m glad to hear that someone else jots down writings when they are at the hair salon!!!

  4. What color did you dye it? I have wanted to dye my hair for a while but it takes like 5 tubs of dye at a salon I think its a tremendous amount that I couldn’t afford the first time much less to maintain lol

    • A kind of beige/blonde…my natural hair is probably only a few shades darker and these days I have to do it to cover up any greys coming through, LOL. So I’m trapped. 🙂

      • I am 32 with reddish hair which means grey will be coming my way really soon yikes! I want to keep it red too and red fades so fast, my hair especially because it has unnatural absorbancy. I can put probably 1/2 cup of strait oil in my hair and it won’t be greasy it just absorbs

      • Wow, my hair is so fine I have to be careful of oils, even ‘good’ ones like moroccan oil – a little is fantastic, a lot is a swamp for me!! 🙂

      • I love that I don’t get oily, limp hair but the texture is naturally coarse so even when its peek healthy it isn’t silky, I have dreamed of having soft neat hair but I have wild crazy hair lol

  5. Ha ha what a wonderful poem created from an otherwise mundane trip to the hairdresser…looking forward to seeing how you make doing the dishes sound AMAZING! 😉 xB
