You
Epitomise everything
You claim
To despise
Your lack
Of self-awareness
Is astonishingly
Comprehensive
Others in our midst
Consider you
A curious caricature
Of clueless conniving
Your plans
Are so transparent
Even polished glass
Seems foggy
By comparison
Your seething, blind
Despotism
Is it own holocaust
In the making
How pathetic
Your insecurities
Follow you
Like dis-embodied,Β defeated ghosts
Desperate in your wake

Just found the follow by email button and clicked it. Look forward to reading more of your work. Have a lovely day.
Thank you so much!! π
So um… did you write this about a boss? I know a few managers like this, lol.
No, not a boss …..power games come from all areas I think and there are a lot of would-be bosses out there. π π
This is really really good. I’m not going to lie, I had to look up “Despotism.” The whole poem is really strong in execution. The last two stanzas I feel have the extra awesome factor going on. This one of my favorite poems of yours helenvalentina.
Thank you so much! π Sometimes venting can be very creative as well as therapeutic. π
*This is… sigh. lol
LOL π
Helen–the world is full of these. Wonderful dressing down.
Thank you! Wouldn’t it be great if the world wasn’t full of these type of people…but you are very right! π
enjoyed it and could relate, BUT what got noticed by me tonight as I read this, could be my mood, LOL was the alliteration!! I loved it, a curious caricature of clueless conniving … yes, I know, less caffeine … hehehe great read
LOL, thanks..yes, I realised that after I had written it, but thought it didn’t hurt to keep it in even if I didn’t do alliteration for any other part. π
