Dangerous driving
Without headlights
Careening down
A darkened road
An accident
Yearning to happen
A wild heart
Set to explode
Somehow stealthy
Always lethal
Crouching evil
With intent
Hides in shadows
Clothed in darkness
Brutal heart
That won’t relent

I got chills reading this. π―
Thanks – was based on a nightmare, and yes, it was chilling! π
My favorite lines are:
A wild heart
Set to explode
And
Brutal heart
That wonβt relent
I love it when words are few and they are strong, powerful and image provoking. This poem (like many of your other poems) is a great concept. It continually amazes me that you produce so many well written, awesome concept poems regularly. π
Thank you so much…this one was based on a nightmare I had…not that one wishes for nightmares but they are good inspiration for darker poetry at times. π
OOOOOh u almost had me in the backseat, trembling…..awesome Helen
Thank you..in the nightmare that’s exactly where I was, and yes, trembling too… π
This was so intense. You captured it perfectly.
Thank you – it was an intense nightmare I must admit. π
Very smoothly rendered most of the risks involved in rash driving
Thank you so much!! π
