I have only encountered wickedness
True evil
Once
Looking into a mauling, twisting face
Multi-layered personalities
Clashing
Even the sheer physicality
Stifled the incongruent
Ravaged visage
In any moment tears may have fallen
From wild and manic
Glittering eyes
Projecting a filth, and ancient
Grueling ugliness
In form
Reflecting the deeper malaise
A rift in the fabric
Of nature
Those brief moments haunt me
Like a sickness
Not forgotten
Speak not to me of the glamour
Of darkness
It is just the pit
Nothing more
Nothing more

You descriptively paint a dark portrait of evil. Very captivating.
Thank you so much!! π
I love this poem. I like that you went to the depths of shadow. I love the descriptions in the whole poem, very consistent in quality, but specifically the descriptions in the third stanza really catches me for some reason. I love the strong message of the last two stanzas. Messages in poems usually mean much more to me than the art of descriptions but in this piece that preference was almost leveled. You did a really great job helenvalentina π
Thank you so much – draws from an actual prsonal experience which probably helped make it more vivid. π
π¦ I’m very sorry to hear that. It struck me that this was a real experience, you really can’t get to the depth and insight of this kind of poem with out some sort of reference point. Anyone that has to go through any kind of painful experience, it makes me really sad. I think that pain is necessary for growth, knowledge and understanding but I wish it wasn’t. I am very happy that this experience wasn’t lost on you. You have the ability to see the light in the darkness, the gem in the pile of shit. I bet if you were ever interested in it you would be a great transformational speaker.
Thank you so much again – I agree re pain and growth, they are necessary twins I think. And thank you so much re the transformational speaker compliment – I’m really touched. I often speak at conferences for my day to day work – am doing so tomorrow as a matter of fact – but that’s on very dry work stuff. Had never thought of anything more interesting like that…oh well, maybe one day! π
