Evening Shadowplay

Shadows on the walls
past twilight
flicker fitfully
in thrall to the candlelight

Storytelling
in movement
A strange grey dance
Heads turning slowly
Mass shifting, lumbering
Then sudden, frenetic
yet graceful hands
reflect precision in odd restraint

A silence
of disembodied dance
A separate world
to those that are shadowed
As though a darkened kingdom
edges towards ours
in the last moments
before night

Lovely wordplay with illusions and silhouettes from both sides of the image. A great concept nicely explored. Well done.

I love every line, every word. They each draw me in hankering for that next line.

    I just love the way your mind works and plays with ideas. Well done!! {{I went in my bathroom and made a doggie silhouette with the nightlight on–thought of you–giggles}}

    • Hehehe…the inspiration came from sittng up reading in bed then seeing my own huge shadow on the wall nearby, though how it went all dark in theme I’m not sure!! 🙂 🙂
