Last night
I dreamt of your house
Like I was a ghost
Visiting its past
You were not there
Only the memories
Of the place itself
Distorted somehow
By the dream
What does it say
That my dreaming self
Remembers a house
Visited only infrequently
In our brief, intense acquaintance
But not its owner?
Does this betray
A deeper truth?
When we were together
You weren’t really there?
And still more than this
I didn’t even care?
I do recall you had a lovely house………

I love those realizations of a deeper truth…. hindsight is amazingly enlightening 😉
Yes, and its often in dreams that we realise the truth! 🙂
I really love this one! And so true of dreams, they nearly always reveal something, and often in complex ways – unless it’s just my dreams that are complicated! 😀
You aren’t alone…I think lots of us have complicated dreams! Thanks for your kind words! 🙂
Whoa!!!!! Packs a punch in the last several lines….LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

LOL…sadly it’s very true of the relationship I am recalling in it…. 🙂
It reads… Like a dream.
Thank you! 🙂
Firstly, I would like to thank you for the kind comment you had left me on my poem ‘Prayer to El Dorado.’ That was very kind of you 🙂
Secondly, I have fallen in love with this poem you have written. I haven’t come across something that really rattled me inside like this one does in a good while. I see much talent in your work, can’t wait to get the chance to read a bit more of it.

Thank you so much Raine, and you are more than welcome for the comment I made on your poem. I was very impressed with your work when I found it – isn’t wordpress wonderful? the chance to just browse the blogs available and come across real talent, such as yours, is such a pleasure! 🙂
Yes, I am quite impressed with the whole set up of WordPress 🙂 I’m not very active on the internet, but this has really provided me with a fast means of getting my work seen, so I try to update it each time I write something. I am very glad that you like the poems and songs. What I would really like more than anything would be to get a group of musicians together and play them, as I have melodies in mind for most of them. But it’s difficult to find people who have the time for that anymore, so I may just compile all of them into a thin book of poetry and have it published.
