Banners raised
The cross is stained
Blood rose red
Seeking in the material
The mystery
Of the soul
This alchemy demands
The nigredo becomes
A battlefield
What phoenix arises
From broken flesh and bones
Skyward?
Ancient armies in the night
Rivers of blood
Later shackled
Imprisoned all
And through torture
And dread endurance
Raise their dying eyes
To the numinous
For one brief moment see
The face of God.

It is a bit of a task to work out what to do and how to do it. And you are right, it is hard to limit it to 15 people because there are so many great writers and artists out there. 🙂
