Age

Aging

Aging (Photo credit: K. Kendall)

Age does not always wither
It may release
Stiffer joints have less dominion
With the passing of care
Time itself
Does not lend wisdom
But irradiates
Some lessons learned
Freedom becomes
Another term for
Relinquishing what was yearned

So much more peaceful now
Simpler wants
A comfortable and quiet home
A few close friends
Time alone
Does not deny one’s youth
But eliminates
Vexations found there
Balance becomes
The lesser battle
To agree what is fair

I’ve found that I’ve improved with age. Mind you, it would have been difficult to get any worse.
