Darkest Star

Dark Star

Dark Star (Photo credit: cloud2013)

I smell death on you
I smell disease
I sense blood soaked nights
To keep you pleased

I smell deep decay
Of the nocturnal kind
The sad debris
Of victims left behind

I sense the Reaper’s smile
Upon your jackal face
And all that withers here
Your cold love replaced

I smell death on you
It’s in your staring eyes
The moment you appear
To lost and dull surprise

I smell the end of hope
All of the kindness gone
You chose the darkest star
To wish upon

Nicely rhymed, the nocturne feeling is present from start to finish. I especially liked the ending.
