In the dream
At a party
We were friends
Not foes
An alternate
Reality
To the one
We chose
And thinking
On this twist
Do you
Suppose
That rather than
The thorn
You could have been
The rose?

Like most people, I have a number of sides to me. The most interesting one probably emerges through my writing, hence this blog. I love to read, and also to write, and so this is a way to share both.

A rather cutting poem. Love the ending question.
LOL, thanks…based on a real dream and a real situation…maybe that’s what made it cutting. π
Brilliant!!!! Beyond words brilliant. I needed to read this today. Thank you!! Big hugs!!
Thanks so much, always lovely to hear when a friend can relate to something you wrote! π
This was great! It made me think of the times when I might have been a thorn, but I should have been a rose!!! Wonderful insight…
Thanks so much!! π π
Beautiful! Just beautiful!
And I’ve nominated you for the WordPress Family Award. Thanks for all you’ve done for me! http://whenibecameanauthor.wordpress.com/2013/04/22/wordpress-family-award/
Thank you so much – as ever I really appreciate the thought but doubt I have the time to follow up…but still, so kind of you to think of me!! I feel like you have supported me greatly too!! π
You’re welcome, and that’s fine if you don’t follow-up, I just wanted you to know how much your kindness has mean to me! You’re such a wonderful friend! Thank you so much!
So short and sweet and perfect. You have a way with brevity that we as readers get, but yet we beg for more….
Thank you so much, that is so kind of you!! π π
Wonderful poem, I love the ending here and how it ties in beautifully with the ending of “Moth.”
It feels like this is the beginning of something…
Thank you so much – they both derive from a similar muse/basis, so there may be others on this theme/topic! Something from my past, thankfully, but still inspiring as a topic when reflected upon from time to time. Glad you like them!! π
