The hardest thing in losing love
Is to relinquish what it seemed
For even though the partnership
May well have lost its gleam
How do you quell the lingering ghost
How do you kill the dream?

Like most people, I have a number of sides to me. The most interesting one probably emerges through my writing, hence this blog. I love to read, and also to write, and so this is a way to share both.

lovely!
Thank you so much!! π
Well-written and sad. Wish I had an answer to your question.
Thank you! So do I…the only answer I have is time, and that’s not much comfot before it passes…. π
Maybe time and ice cream?
Yep,ice cream would help…particularly chocolate icecream!! π
Sometimes Im having trouble to believe in pure love in the first place..
I know…I do too..but then I know some very happy long term couples and I suspect their original dream of each other was more realistic in the first place… π
Thats where the secret is, Im sure. Little expectations.
Probably very true! And a genuine friendship under everything too I think. π
Yes. People should be friends in a broader scale of that word as well as being lovers amongst other things. Rarely happens!
Yes.. Often seems impossible to do so without going through intense pain.. Amazing post!
Thank you so much…so much pain is internal and emotional in life….
time kills everything, which just makes me feel sad
Time does, and I guess with pain and disappointment that isn’t a bad thing, but it also kills what was good to remember too…
So true, we usually mourn what we thought someone might be rather than what they really were….
Yes, I believe that is true..perhaps real love is when the dream you had turns out to be reality? π
if you ever find out, let me know …
The only answer I’ve ever found is time, and that’s not a happy answer because it takes so long…..
Hmmm….every time I come to your blog…ice cream is mentioned. I love it here!!!! This was exquisite. I could feel your heart coming through. It reflects, truly, what I feel as well. Sigh!!!!
LOL, thank you! I didn’t bring up icecream this time, but I did enthusiasically agree when it was brought up, LOL!! π
I feel like you must be inside my head. This spoke to me so much because of my own life. Thank you for sharing
You’re very welcome, thank you so much for your kind words!! π

Thank you so much!! π π
This made me tear up…in a good way. This is my life right now. It’s comforting to know that some “gets it.” Thank you for this…
Thank you so much, very much appreciated!!
It hurst the most when there’s little to remember.
That’s probably very true – the dream extinguished too early is probably particularly poignant. π
