Dissociation

Spinning circles
Crowd my mind
In this maze
As paths unwind

Coloured masks
To hide the faces
Strange identities
Leave no traces

Shattered dreams
Nightmare view
Can’t see where
We’re going to

Rough cut image
Barely seen
Can’t remember
Where we’ve been

About helenvalentina

Like most people, I have a number of sides to me. The most interesting one probably emerges through my writing, hence this blog. I love to read, and also to write, and so this is a way to share both.

  1. wow… dissociation… you have no idea how in touch I am with that particular survival skill. Sounds like you know… you’ve been there. Great writing my friend. (((Hugs)))

    • Thank you! :) I don’t have any conscious memory of a dissociative episode, but I do occassionally get ths odd type of feeling where everything seems to distort in terms of proportion – small things seem large, close things seem far away and vice versa, and a friend once told me that was a type of dissociation. It is a strange feeling – I always think there is something I almost remember at that moment and if I could it would be important, but then its always lost to me when the feeling passes. Strange. :)
